About

IDJ Trade Association (IDJTA), established in 2008, is dedicated to the empowerment of DJs internationally and honoring the DJs vast contributions to the entertainment industry. Our mission is to promote entrepreneurship, independence, awareness and good will within the DJ community, while continuously presenting new and cutting edge branding opportunities to aid in the career advancement of the DJ. The members of our organization are enlightened about the principles of wisdom, knowledge and understanding vital to daily life.

My name is Edwin “OG Crazy Eddie” Myles and as the Founder and CEO of the 100,000 member International Disc Jockey Trade Association, I wanted to take this time to thoroughly explain what this association is not.  The IDJTA is not a DJ coalition, clique, squad or gang, nor is it a popularity contest that favors highly visible DJs of fame and acclaim over those lacking exposure.  It’s not an organization that requires its members to work at clubs, tour with established artists, make mixtape cd’s or spin at commercial, college, satellite, or internet radio stations. Additionally, the IDJTA doesn’t require or do we care if a DJ works at a BDS, Mediabase, or Mediaguide radio stations.  Program and Music Directors regardless of their radio station’s national rankings, be it top ten or otherwise, are afforded the same level of respect and fairness as a DJ who works at a bowling alley.

The IDJTA has no inner circle within the circle, secret or otherwise, where only a select few DJs benefit from the hard labor of the majority.  To put it frankly, no DJ and we mean no DJ, regardless of how rich, powerful, famous or connected you may or may not be has a bearing on how you’ll be treated within this organization.  Lastly, the IDJTA is not an organization created to defraud, intimidate, manipulate, or take advantage of independent artists and labels seeking our invaluable assistance.  Now that you fully understand what the IDJTA is not, its time to find out what the hype is all about.

As the youngest forefather in Hip-Hop, OG Crazy Eddie is a loyal disciple of the Godfather of Hip-Hop, the Honorable Afrika Bambaataa who instilled in him the ultra importance of the DJ to the culture.  Yearning to unite as well as provide DJs of all nationalities and genres of music an organization where they can network, team up, learn, better themselves, and receive discounts on medical and dental care, travel, and equipment served as OG Crazy Eddie’s inspiration for forming the IDJTA.  Considered by many in the know as the next Teamsters, the famed trucking union headed by the late Jimmy Hoffa, has the IDJTA poised to revolutionize the disc jockey profession for the better like no organization prior to its existence.

So, calling all DJs, no matter your affiliation to an existing DJ coalition or squad, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to become a part of an organization dedicated to DJs, created and headed by a man of immense honor and respect whose devoted his life to aiding those most often forgotten, the DJs.
Parting Thought: DJs, you’ve always had the power to make or break records.  Now is the time for all true lovers of music who go by the title of Disc Jockey to unite as one for the betterment of the entire profession.  IDJTA is a call to arms for DJs globally who are sick and tired of the way the industry is currently governed.
